Some people have too much fun. This piano movie is half cool, half sick humor, half dumb and half funny. I know that totals up to four halves, but it's two pianists anyhow, so I thought I could take the liberty with my math. This is an impression of a Steinway piano eating the pianists. I love it when the piano wire starts walking up to Elizabeth Joy and I love the moment when she disappears into the piano. It really helps if you know the music: De Erlkonig by Schubert- that famous Lied where the father and son are galloping along through the forest and the son keeps calling out, "Mein Vater, mein Vater!" and insisting he sees the elf king, the father denying it all, but then at the end he looks and his Kind war tot! I thought it was exciting until the end when the fingers disappeared into the keyboard and then I just thought it was just funny.
"Mein Vater, mein Vater, und hörest du nicht,
Was Erlenkönig mir leise verspricht?" –
"Sei ruhig, bleibe ruhig, mein Kind;
In dürren Blättern säuselt der Wind." –
...
Dem Vater grauset's, er reitet geschwind,
Er hält in Armen das ächzende Kind,
Erreicht den Hof mit Müh' und Not;
In seinen Armen das Kind war tot.
I wonder how long it took the duo and editor to make that.
